Don Miller, b. 1954

Dan was born in the Napa Valley and attended Napa High and Napa Valley College. Don has cerebral palsy and uses a wheel chair to get around. He is very active and likes being a risk taker.  He has gone sea kayaking and would one day like to go hot-air ballooning. He played on a wheelchair bowling league at Napa Bowl, formed a group called Advancement and Enhancement at Napa College of which he was vice president, and participated in San Francisco's Bay to Bay Breakers run six times.

Don is very active with his creative practice and dedicates time every day to create two to three watercolors. Much of his focus is on composition and creating a focal point within the sweeping lines of his painting. His creations are intentional and deliberately random in their execution. His watercolors hold an organic interpretation reminiscent of figures in a landscape, or the spiritual light of a translucent veil. While his choices are bold they are defined by grace.

Don's work is in a number of private collections and has been exhibited throughout the Valley.  He was juried into the Napa Valley Open Studio and received a formal invitation to become a part of the Napa Valley Open Studio roster.
