Christopher Vilchez, b. 1984

Born in Los Angeles, California, Chris relocated to a group home in Napa when he was five.  He grew to become an outgoing man with a contagious smile and an endless amount of energy. Chris likes to do things. He enjoys going on long walks at the park and hugging as many trees as he can during his visits. His favorite sports activities are baseball, swimming and walking. He likes to go for car rides, visit his family, go out to lunch, collect keys and make art. Chris's artwork is very active. His main goal in creating is to cover all the white spots, which he calls the red spots. He likes working very large, making marks on the canvas and then backing up to review before going back in to work. Using his primary medium of acrylic paint on canvas or paper, his marks create circular motions reminiscent of balls of yarn.
